From Bethlehem to Team USA... and now back home helping the next generation of soccer stars! 🇺🇸⚽
Bethlehem native and U.S. Women's National Team captain Claire Hutton returned to the Capital Region this week to unveil her very own signature sandwich at Cardona's Market while launching a soccer equipment drive benefiting the Albany Soccer Club.
Known simply as "The Hutton," the sandwich features roast beef, ham, Swiss cheese, horseradish mayonnaise, greens, tomatoes, and pepper jam served on a warm pretzel bun. 🥪🔥
For Hutton, the partnership is deeply personal.
💬 "Cardona's is a place that was near and dear to my heart when I was growing up," Hutton said. "It's a full-circle moment."
The 20-year-old soccer standout, who turned professional as a teenager and captained Team USA earlier this year, says giving back to the community that helped shape her journey remains one of her biggest motivations.
💬 "Such an important thing for me and my family is giving back," Hutton said. "Having that way to give back is really important to me and one of my 'whys'—why I play."
⚽ Albany Soccer Club, where many of Hutton's lifelong friends played, will benefit from:
✅ A soccer equipment drive
✅ Donations of soccer balls, shin guards, and socks
✅ Proceeds from sales of "The Hutton" sandwich throughout the summer
Albany Soccer Club President Marina Marcou-O'Malley praised Hutton's impact on local youth.
💬 "We need young players and role models like Claire for our young girls to stay in soccer and pursue their dreams."
Dozens of young fans lined up to meet the hometown star, take photos, and have their gear signed.
One young player summed it up perfectly:
💬 "It's cool to think that someone from our area is able to go pro. It's really inspiring."
📍 Donations of Size 4 & 5 soccer balls, royal blue soccer socks, and shin guards can be dropped off through Sunday at Cardona's locations in Albany, Latham, and Saratoga Springs.

🚔🚨 TRAFFIC STOP ON I-87 LEADS TO MAJOR DRUG BUST IN BETHLEHEM 🚨🚔
Three men are facing felony drug charges after New York State Police reportedly seized more than three pounds of cocaine during a traffic stop on Interstate 87 in Bethlehem earlier this month.
According to State Police, troopers stopped a vehicle on I-87 in Bethlehem at approximately 8:30 p.m. on June 3 for an alleged vehicle and traffic law violation.
🐕🦺 During the stop, a State Police K9 unit alerted troopers to the possible presence of illegal drugs inside the vehicle.
A subsequent search reportedly led to the discovery of more than three pounds of cocaine.
The following individuals were arrested:
🔹 Robert Davis, 39, of Troy
🔹 Freddie Fields, 45, of Albany
🔹 Terrell Welcome, 36, of Schenectady
All three were charged with:
⚖️ Criminal Possession of a Controlled Substance in the First Degree (Felony)
⚖️ Criminal Possession of a Controlled Substance in the Third Degree (Felony)
State Police said the suspects were taken into custody at the scene and later arraigned in Bethlehem Town Court.
🏛️ Following arraignment, all three were remanded to the Albany County Correctional Facility without bail.
As with all criminal cases, the charges are allegations, and the defendants are presumed innocent unless and until proven guilty in a court of law.
