Math Help for Fridays Twizzler

The math problem in the image is:
9 × 0 × 3 + 2
The key is to follow the Order of Operations (often remembered as PEMDAS):
Parentheses
Exponents
Multiplication and Division (left to right)
Addition and Subtraction (left to right)
Step 1: Multiply left to right
9 × 0 = 0
Now the problem becomes:
0 × 3 + 2
Step 2: Continue multiplying
0 × 3 = 0
Now the problem becomes:
0 + 2
Step 3: Add
0 + 2 = 2
✅ Correct Answer: 2
Why do people get this wrong?
Many people see the 3 + 2 and do that first, getting:
9 × 0 × 5 = 0
That answer is 0, but it's incorrect because addition does not come before multiplication unless there are parentheses telling you to do so.
If the problem had been:
9 × 0 × (3 + 2)
then you would calculate the parentheses first and get:
9 × 0 × 5 = 0
But since there are no parentheses, multiplication comes first.
🧠 Math Twizzler Tip: Anytime you see multiplication and addition together, resist the urge to work left-to-right blindly. Follow PEMDAS and do all multiplication/division before addition/subtraction.
Final Answer: 2 🎯
