URGENT:

BLOOD SUPPLY REACHES CRISIS LEVEL

DELMAR BLOOD DRIVE TODAY!

🩸❤️ URGENT: BLOOD SUPPLY REACHES CRISIS LEVEL — DELMAR BLOOD DRIVE TODAY! ❤️🩸

The American Red Cross has issued a national blood crisis, marking only the second time in its 145-year history that blood supplies have fallen to such critical levels.

Blood inventories are now at their lowest summer levels in four years, with supplies of Type O positive dropping to less than a one-day supply. Type O negative, the universal blood type used in life-threatening emergencies when there's no time to determine a patient's blood type, is especially needed.

Hospitals across the country continue to see strong demand for blood due to emergency trauma cases, while summer travel, seasonal illnesses, and fewer donations have caused supplies to fall behind.

❤️ The good news? You can help today—right here in our community.

🕧 12:30 PM – 4:30 PM

As of 7:00 a.m. this morning, several appointment times were still available.

💉 Donating blood is one of the simplest ways to make a life-saving difference. While the entire visit takes less than an hour, the actual donation usually takes under 10 minutes—and one donation can help save up to three lives.

Platelet donations are also critically important, particularly for cancer patients, and have an even shorter shelf life of just five days.

💬 If you're healthy and eligible, consider rolling up your sleeve today. A small act of kindness could make a life-changing difference for someone in need.

TREE FALL ACCIDENT SERIOUSLY INJURES WORKER IN DELMAR

Delmar Fire - Engine 21

🌳🚑 TREE FALL ACCIDENT SERIOUSLY INJURES WORKER IN DELMAR 🚑🌳

Emergency crews responded to a serious workplace accident in Delmar last Wednesday after a worker was struck by a falling tree while working behind the Delmar Pointe housing development.

According to Bethlehem Police, the 22-year-old worker was part of a work crew in the wooded area off Delaware Avenue when the tree fell, leaving him unconscious.

Delmar-Bethlehem EMS responded first to the scene before requesting assistance from the Delmar Fire Department, whose members carried out a challenging rescue. Firefighters worked to safely extract the injured worker from a location approximately 50 yards down a ravine.

After being rescued, the man was transported to Albany Medical Center for treatment. Police said his condition was reported as serious Wednesday evening.

Our thoughts are with the injured worker, his family, friends, and coworkers as he recovers. We also recognize the quick response and teamwork of the Bethlehem Police Department, Delmar-Bethlehem EMS, and Delmar Fire Department, whose efforts helped bring the victim safely out of a difficult location.

❤️ Please join us in wishing the injured worker a full and speedy recovery.

LOOK UP TOMORROW NIGHT! THE FULL BUCK MOON WILL LIGHT UP THE SUMMER SKY!

🌕🦌 LOOK UP TOMORROW NIGHT! THE FULL BUCK MOON WILL LIGHT UP THE SUMMER SKY! 🌌

Don't forget to look skyward tonight! 🌕 The Full Buck Moon reaches its peak on July 29, 2026, bringing one of the brightest and most beautiful full moons of the summer.

The Buck Moon gets its name from Native American traditions, as this is the time of year when male deer begin growing their new antlers, covered in soft velvet before they fully mature later in the season. 🦌

🌅 The Moon will rise around sunset and remain visible until sunrise, giving skywatchers plenty of time to enjoy the spectacular view.

📸 Whether you're a photographer, stargazer, or simply taking an evening walk, tonight offers a perfect opportunity to capture the Moon's warm golden glow as it climbs above the horizon.

🌠 Tips for the best view:
🌕 Find an open area with a clear view of the eastern horizon.
📷 Bring your camera or smartphone for some memorable photos.
☁️ Cross your fingers for clear skies!
👨‍👩‍👧‍👦 Share the experience with family and friends.

🧩☕ TUESDAY MORNING MATH PUZZLER SOLVED! ☕🧩

🧠 Tuesday Morning Math Puzzler Solution!

Today’s problem is:

3 + 3 × 5

The key is using the Order of Operations.

Step 1: Multiply First

Multiplication comes before addition:

3 × 5 = 15

Now the problem becomes:

3 + 15

Step 2: Add

3 + 15 = 18

🎉 Final Answer: 18

📚 Teaching Tip

A common mistake is adding first:

3 + 3 = 6
6 × 5 = 30

That is incorrect because multiplication must be completed before addition.

Remember:

PEMDAS

  • P – Parentheses

  • E – Exponents

  • M/D – Multiplication and Division

  • A/S – Addition and Subtraction

So:

3 + 3 × 5 = 3 + 15 = 18

💬 Did you get 18 on your first try, or did you get 30? Share your answer in the comments! 🧠🎯
