The Bethlehem Police Department has arrested two 19-year-old Selkirk residents following an incident in Delmar in which they are accused of threatening a group of juveniles with what appeared to be a handgun.

According to police, officers responded to a report on Monday, July 20, after two individuals in a white Honda Civic allegedly approached several juveniles near the entrance of the Stewart's Shop on Delaware Avenue. During the encounter, one of the suspects reportedly displayed what appeared to be a handgun while making a threatening remark.

Fortunately, no one was physically injured, and the vehicle left the area before officers arrived.

Bethlehem Police detectives identified the suspects through:

🚗 Vehicle and suspect descriptions provided by witnesses
📹 Surveillance video from a nearby business
🔍 Follow-up interviews and investigative work

During the investigation, detectives executed a search at a residence in Selkirk and examined the suspect vehicle. Police say they recovered a CO₂-powered BB pistol designed to resemble a Glock 19 handgun, which investigators believe matched the weapon used during the incident.

The two men have each been charged with:

▪️ Menacing in the Sixth Degree
▪️ Criminal Possession of a Weapon in the Fourth Degree
▪️ Endangering the Welfare of a Child
▪️ Conspiracy

Following arraignment, both were released under Albany County Probation Department supervision.

Police also obtained orders of protection for the juvenile victims.

📅 The defendants are scheduled to appear in Bethlehem Town Court on August 18.

⚖️ As with all criminal cases, the charges are allegations, and the defendants are presumed innocent unless and until proven guilty in a court of law.

⛽ Beginning August 1, 2026: AdvantEdge points can no longer be redeemed for fuel discounts at participating Sunoco stations.
🛒 AdvantEdge points will continue to be accepted for grocery savings at Price Chopper and Market 32 stores.

According to company officials, many customers have increasingly chosen to use their AdvantEdge points for in-store grocery savings rather than fuel discounts. Participating Sunoco locations—including several operated by Stewart's Shops—have already posted notices informing customers that the gas discount program is ending.

📍 Local drivers may have already seen the signs at participating locations, including the Stewart's Shops on Delaware Avenue in Delmar.

⏳ If you've been saving your AdvantEdge points for gas, now is the time to use them! After July 31, 2026, they will no longer be valid for fuel discounts at participating Sunoco stations.
