There’s a new way for some of Bethlehem’s youngest readers to discover the magic of books! ❤️

The Bethlehem Public Library has expanded its collection of interactive storytelling devices with Little Tikes Dream Machines, now available for families to borrow.

Designed with preschoolers in mind, the devices combine familiar children's stories with projected images, narration and sound effects, creating an engaging experience that can help build early reading, vocabulary and word-recognition skills. 📚🌟

The library already offers other popular screen-free storytelling options:

🎥 Little Tikes Dream Machine — Projects storybook images onto a wall while adding narration and sound effects.

🎧 Yoto Players — Kids insert special story cards and control the listening experience themselves, with stories available for a range of ages from toddlers to tweens.

🧸 Tonieboxes — Children place character figures on the device to hear stories, music and songs, offering another fun way for developing readers to experience storytelling.

The library's collection gives families several ways to combine books, listening and interactive learning — all while encouraging children to develop an early love of stories. ❤️📖

The Bethlehem Central Boys Varsity Soccer Team put on an offensive show Thursday, rolling past Ballston Spa, 7-0, while keeping its unbeaten start to the season intact! 💙🦅

After a pair of tight contests — a 1-1 draw against Albany followed by a 1-0 victory over Columbia — the Eagles broke things wide open against the Scotties.

🔥 Bethlehem is now 6-0-1 on the season!

The Eagles have been impressive at both ends of the field, scoring 26 goals through their first seven games while recording several shutouts along the way.

Their recent run includes:

⚽️ 7-0 over Ballston Spa
⚽️ 1-0 over Columbia
⚽️ 1-1 draw with Albany
⚽️ 6-0 over Mohonasen

The Bethlehem Central Girls Varsity Volleyball Team delivered a dominant performance against Schenectady, sweeping the Patriots 3-0! 👏🏐

The Eagles controlled the match from start to finish, winning every set by at least 10 points.

Bethlehem received contributions throughout the lineup, with Mae Walston recording 14 assists and 3 digs, while Maddie Palmer added 5 aces and 3 digs.

The Bethlehem Central Varsity Football Team came within just two points of picking up its first victory of the season Friday night, battling Queensbury in a defensive showdown before falling 9-7.

It was Bethlehem’s closest game of the season so far, as the Eagles stayed within striking distance throughout the contest and gave themselves an opportunity to pull out the win.

Queensbury 9 — Bethlehem Central 7

The result moves Bethlehem to 0-4 on the season, while Queensbury improves to 2-2.

While the first win remains just out of reach, Friday’s narrow result gives the Eagles something to build on as they head into the next part of their schedule. 💪🦅

The Ravena-Coeymans-Selkirk Varsity Football Team is on a roll! The Ravens picked up their third straight victory Friday night, pulling away from Ichabod Crane for an impressive 28-7 win.

RCS 28 — Ichabod Crane 7

This one was much closer early on. The teams went into halftime tied 7-7, setting the stage for a decisive second-half performance by the Ravens.

🔥 RCS came out of the break and took control, scoring 21 unanswered points while keeping the Riders off the scoreboard the rest of the way.

The victory continues an impressive stretch for RCS:

Today’s problem is:

5 + 2 × 5

The key is remembering the Order of Operations. Multiplication comes before addition.

2 × 5 = 10

Now the expression becomes:

5 + 10

5 + 10 = 15

A common mistake is to work straight from left to right:

5 + 2 = 7, then 7 × 5 = 35 ❌

But without parentheses telling us otherwise, multiplication gets priority over addition.

🧠 Teaching Tip: Remember PEMDAS: Parentheses → Exponents → Multiplication & Division → Addition & Subtraction.
