The Bethlehem Central Boys Varsity Soccer Team delivered another impressive performance Tuesday, earning a 1-0 road victory over Columbia in a matchup featuring two highly regarded teams. ⚽🏆

The Eagles' defense was up to the challenge, keeping the Blue Devils off the scoreboard and handing Columbia its first loss of the season.

🔥 Bethlehem has put together a terrific start, improving to 5-0-1 through its first six matches and remaining UNDEFEATED!

The Eagles have combined strong defense with plenty of offensive production, scoring 19 goals over those six games. Their recent results include wins of 6-0 over Mohonasen, 6-0 over Averill Park, and now the 1-0 shutout of Columbia, along with a 1-1 draw against Albany.

Columbia moves to 5-1-2 following Tuesday's result.

🏠 NEXT UP: Bethlehem returns home to welcome Ballston Spa on Thursday at 4:15 PM.

The Bethlehem Central Girls Varsity Volleyball Team is keeping the momentum rolling! The Eagles picked up their third consecutive victory Tuesday, defeating the Columbia Blue Devils 3-1 in a competitive Suburban Council matchup. 🏐💪

Columbia made Bethlehem work for every set, reaching at least 20 points in all four. The Eagles ultimately prevailed with set scores of 25-20, 26-28, 25-20 and 25-20.

Several Eagles delivered big performances. ⭐ Mae Walston filled the stat sheet with 32 assists, eight digs and seven kills, while Maddie Palmer contributed 11 digs, nine kills and five aces to help secure the victory.

The win improves Bethlehem Central to an impressive 6-1 on the season and extends the Eagles' current winning streak to three. 🔥🦅

🏐 NEXT UP: Bethlehem is scheduled to face familiar opponent Burnt Hills-Ballston Lake on Tuesday at 5:30 PM.

It doesn't get much closer than this! The Bethlehem Boys Varsity Cross Country Team went toe-to-toe with Guilderland at Saturday's Albany County Kiwanis Cross Country Meet, with the Dutchmen narrowly edging the Eagles by just ONE point for the team victory. 🏃‍♂️💨

While Guilderland claimed the team title, Bethlehem's Calvin Howard captured the individual championship, crossing the finish line first and taking home the win! 🥇🦅

The Eagles also received strong finishes from Will Tait, Andrew Turinsky and Tristan McCarthy, who crossed in 7th, 8th and 9th place.

Bethlehem competed without top returner Logan Greaux, adding another interesting dimension to what could develop into a very competitive season between these two teams.

And they won't have to wait long for a rematch! 👀

🏃‍♂️ Bethlehem and Guilderland are expected to meet again this weekend at the Queensbury Invitational.

The Ravena-Coeymans-Selkirk Varsity Girls Soccer Team battled Guilderland on Wednesday, and neither side was able to break through as the teams finished in a 0-0 draw. ⚽🛡️

It marks the first tie of the season for the Ravens, with the RCS defense keeping Guilderland off the scoreboard throughout the match.

The result moves RCS to 4-2-1 on the season, while Guilderland now stands at 4-2-2.

There isn't much time to rest for the Ravens. RCS is scheduled to return to action Thursday at 7 PM against Cohoes. ⚽🔥

The Ravena-Coeymans-Selkirk Girls Varsity Volleyball team showed plenty of resilience in its home non-league matchup against Schalmont, overcoming a tough opening set to earn a 3-1 victory over the Sabres! 🏐👏

RCS got off to a slow start, dropping the first set 14-25. But the Ravens quickly flipped the momentum — and never looked back.

🏐 Final set scores:
Schalmont 25 – RCS 14
RCS 25 – Schalmont 16
RCS 25 – Schalmont 12
RCS 25 – Schalmont 17

After falling behind 1-0, the Ravens captured three consecutive sets to complete the comeback on their home court. 💪🐦‍⬛

The victory continued a strong stretch at home for RCS, which has now won four of its last five home matches.

And the Ravens kept rolling after this one! RCS followed up the Schalmont victory with a 3-0 sweep of Cairo-Durham on September 21 at home. 🔥🏐

The Voorheesville Varsity Girls Soccer Team is finding its stride — and Saturday brought its biggest offensive performance of the season! ⚽💥

The Blackbirds powered their way to an impressive 9-0 shutout victory over the Albany Falcons, extending their winning streak to three straight games.

And what a three-game stretch it has been! Voorheesville has scored 23 goals while allowing just two, including back-to-back seven-goal performances before Saturday's season-high nine-goal outburst. 🔥

🏠 The Blackbirds have also been tough to beat on their home field, winning six of their last seven home games and scoring an impressive 36 goals during that stretch.

Saturday's victory moves Voorheesville to 4-2-1 on the season.

With the tie, the Blackbirds extended their unbeaten streak dating back to September 3 and moved their season record to 3-1-3.

South Glens Falls also picked up a point from the hard-fought matchup, moving to 0-4-3 on the season.

35 ÷ 5 × 4 − 3!

There are division, multiplication, subtraction AND a factorial in this one, so the order of operations is important!

Step 1: Calculate the factorial

The ! means factorial:

3! = 3 × 2 × 1 = 6

Now our problem becomes:

35 ÷ 5 × 4 − 6

Step 2: Division and multiplication

Division and multiplication have equal priority, so we work from left to right.

35 ÷ 5 = 7

Now:

7 × 4 − 6

7 × 4 = 28

Now we have:

28 − 6

Step 3: Subtract

28 − 6 = 22

💡 Teaching Tip: Remember, PEMDAS does not mean multiplication always comes before division. Multiplication and division are on the same level and are solved left to right. The same rule applies to addition and subtraction.

⚠️ Common mistake: Don't treat 3! as simply 3. The factorial symbol changes it:

3! = 6
