As New York races toward ambitious clean energy goals, a growing debate is unfolding across rural communities: Where should large-scale solar projects be built—and who should have the final say? 🤔🌎

Across Upstate New York, thousands of acres of farmland are being proposed or approved for large-scale solar developments as the state works to reduce carbon emissions and meet future electricity demands.

Supporters say solar projects are essential to:

A chapter of local history is coming to an end in Ravena.

After serving the community for six decades, Grace United Methodist Church will hold its final worship service on June 28 before permanently closing its doors at the end of the month.

Located at 16 Hillcrest Drive in Ravena, the church has faced years of financial challenges, including a shrinking congregation and mounting debt. Despite efforts to remain open, church leaders say continuing operations is no longer possible.

❤️ While the church building may be closing, its legacy of service and community support will continue through Grace In Action, a nonprofit organization that will carry on the charitable work of church members.

In advance of the closure, nearly the entire contents of the church will be offered for sale, including:

Many people get tripped up because they forget the Order of Operations.

P = Parentheses
E = Exponents
M = Multiplication
D = Division
A = Addition
S = Subtraction

👉 Multiplication and Division are done first (left to right), then Addition and Subtraction (left to right).

4 × 4 = 16

4 ÷ 4 = 1

Now the problem becomes:

16 + 1 - 4

16 + 1 = 17

17 - 4 = 13

A common mistake is solving strictly from left to right:

❌ 4 × 4 = 16
❌ 16 + 4 = 20
❌ 20 ÷ 4 = 5

That gives 1, but it's incorrect because division must be completed before addition and subtraction.
