🌳🥾 NEW TRAIL COULD OPEN UP A HIDDEN VIEW AT HENRY HUDSON PARK! 💦🍂

An exciting outdoor recreation project could be coming to Henry Hudson Park in Selkirk, giving residents better access to a portion of the park that has been difficult to explore — including a beautiful view of Vloman Kill Falls! 🌊🌲

In 2020, the Town of Bethlehem partnered with Scenic Hudson to add 21 acres along the Vloman Kill to Henry Hudson Park. Town records confirm the 21-acre expansion, which became part of Bethlehem's broader open-space conservation efforts.

The challenge has been access. Part of the property lies across the Vloman Kill, and dense vegetation has made the area difficult to traverse without a developed trail.

Now, according to the Town's announcement, Bethlehem Parks & Recreation, Public Works and the Open Space Program are working with State Sen. Patricia Fahy on plans for parking spaces and a new trail that would make the property more accessible to the public.

🥾 New trail access
🚗 Additional parking
🌳 More opportunities to explore preserved open space
💦 Access to views of Vloman Kill Falls

The concept also fits with the Town's longstanding master plan for Henry Hudson Park, which calls for expanding trail access throughout the property and creating connections to scenic overlooks along the Vloman Kill.

📅 The Town is hoping construction can get underway in 2027.

Henry Hudson Park is already one of Bethlehem's special outdoor destinations, stretching along the Hudson River and offering boating, fishing, picnicking, a playground and other recreational opportunities. Opening another portion of the property could give residents one more reason to get outside and explore our own backyard.

💬 Would you hike a new trail to see Vloman Kill Falls? 🥾🌊

🏐🦅 EAGLES SOAR TO ANOTHER SWEEP! BETHLEHEM VOLLEYBALL IMPROVES TO 5-1! 🔥🧡🖤

The Bethlehem Central Eagles continued their strong start to the season Thursday night with an impressive 3-0 home victory over the Albany Falcons! 🏐👏

Bethlehem controlled the match from beginning to end, winning every set by at least 14 points:

🏐 Set 1: Bethlehem 25 — Albany 6
🏐 Set 2: Bethlehem 25 — Albany 9
🏐 Set 3: Bethlehem 25 — Albany 11

🔥 That's a 75-26 combined scoring advantage across the three sets!

The victory improves the Eagles to 5-1 this season and extends an impressive streak against Albany. Bethlehem has now defeated the Falcons eight consecutive times.

The recent series has certainly belonged to the Eagles, with Bethlehem also recording victories over Albany in 2022, 2023, 2024 and 2025.

🏐 NEXT UP: BETHLEHEM vs. COLUMBIA

📅 Tuesday
5:30 PM

Bethlehem will look to keep the momentum rolling when the Eagles take on Columbia.

👏 Congratulations to the players and coaches on another strong team performance!

KEEP IT GOING, EAGLES! 🦅🏐🧡🖤

🏑🦅 HEARTBREAKER IN DELMAR! EAGLES & BLUE STREAKS BATTLE INTO DOUBLE OVERTIME! 🧡🖤

It doesn’t get much closer than this.

Two of the Suburban Council’s unbeaten field hockey teams squared off Wednesday night in Delmar, and Bethlehem and Saratoga Springs needed double overtime before the Blue Streaks escaped with a 1-0 victory.

The defending Section 2 Class A champion Eagles put plenty of pressure on Saratoga throughout the contest. Bethlehem generated 14 shots on goal and 12 penalty corners, but Saratoga goalkeeper Ali Brown turned away all 14 shots to keep the game scoreless.

Neither team found the net during regulation or the first overtime. Then, with 4:06 remaining in the second overtime, Saratoga earned its first penalty corner of the entire game.

Senior captain Cece Carroll converted the opportunity, scoring off an assist from Charlee Wescott to finally end the marathon matchup at 1-0.

🔥 Talk about two evenly matched programs: six of the last seven meetings between Bethlehem and Saratoga Springs have now been decided by just ONE goal.

Both teams entered Wednesday undefeated. The loss moves Bethlehem to 3-1, while Saratoga improved to 5-0.

Despite the tough result, the Eagles showed once again that they can go toe-to-toe with one of the area's strongest teams. One bounce decided this one after nearly an entire evening of scoreless field hockey.

🏑 NEXT UP FOR THE EAGLES

Bethlehem gets a few days to regroup before taking on Oley Valley of Pennsylvania on Sunday.

Keep your heads up, Eagles — there’s plenty of field hockey still ahead! 🦅🧡🖤

SATURDAY MORNING

MATH PUZZLER SOLVED!

🧠☕ SATURDAY MORNING MATH PUZZLER — CAN YOU GET IT RIGHT? 🤔

Today’s challenge is:

32 ÷ 4 + 24 ÷ 6

The key is to follow PEMDAS — and remember that division comes before addition.

✏️ STEP-BY-STEP SOLUTION

Start with the first division:

32 ÷ 4 = 8

Then do the second division:

24 ÷ 6 = 4

Now our problem becomes:

8 + 4

And finally:

ANSWER = 12 🎉

💡 Teaching Tip: When an expression contains division and addition, complete the division operations before doing the addition. In this puzzle, it doesn't matter which division you calculate first because they're separate terms.

Did you get 12 before checking the solution? 😃 Drop your answer below — and challenge a friend!
