HEADS UP, BETHLEHEM! NORTH BETHLEHEM PARK CLOSED FOR TWO DAYS

North Bethlehem Town Park Is Closed For Paving August 19th & 20th!
🚧🌳 HEADS UP, BETHLEHEM! NORTH BETHLEHEM PARK CLOSED FOR TWO DAYS 🚗⚠️
NORTH BETHLEHEM — If North Bethlehem Park is part of your plans this week, here's an important update!
The Town of Bethlehem Parks & Recreation Department has announced that North Bethlehem Park will be closed Wednesday, August 19 and Thursday, August 20 while crews pave the park's parking lot.
📅 Wednesday, August 19
📅 Thursday, August 20
🚧 Parking lot CLOSED
🌳 Park access OFF-LIMITS during paving operations
The closure is necessary to allow crews to safely complete the parking lot paving work over the two-day period.
⚠️ Please don't plan on parking elsewhere and walking into the park. According to the town, park access itself will be off-limits while paving operations are underway.
Hopefully, a little short-term inconvenience means a smoother parking lot for everyone afterward! 🚗✨
📲 SHARE THIS UPDATE with neighbors, families, walkers and anyone who regularly uses North Bethlehem Park so they don't make an unnecessary trip Wednesday or Thursday.

⚾🏠 BETHLEHEM’S ARLO MARYNCZAK ON THE MOVE! VALLEYCATS TRADE LOCAL STANDOUT AT DEADLINE
TROY — A familiar name to Bethlehem baseball fans is headed to a new team. ⚾
The Tri-City ValleyCats traded Arlo Marynczak, a Bethlehem Central graduate and Siena University alum, to the York Revolution as the ValleyCats continued reshaping their roster ahead of the 2026 Frontier League trade deadline on August 17.
In the deal, Tri-City acquired shortstop Pedro Moreno, while the transaction also helped complete a previous trade involving Brandon Peterson.
Marynczak was in his third season with the ValleyCats and had become an important part of the pitching staff. This season, he led Tri-City with 60 innings pitched, recording:
⚾ 52 strikeouts
🎯 Just 19 walks
🔥 7 strikeouts over 6 innings in a recent appearance at Trois-Rivières
For local fans, this trade carries a little extra meaning. Marynczak's baseball journey has taken him from Bethlehem Central, to Siena, to pitching professionally for the hometown ValleyCats — giving Capital Region fans the opportunity to watch one of their own compete at the professional level. 🦅➡️⚾
Now, a new chapter begins with the York Revolution of the Atlantic League.
👏 Congratulations and best of luck to Arlo as he continues his professional baseball career! Bethlehem will be rooting for you!

WEDNESDAY MORNING
MATH PUZZLER SOLVED!

🧠➕✖️ WEDNESDAY MORNING MATH PUZZLER! CAN YOU GET IT RIGHT? 🤔🔥
Today's problem looks simple:
6 + 7 × 7 − 7 = ?
The key is remembering the Order of Operations. Multiplication comes before addition and subtraction.
✏️ STEP 1: Do the multiplication first
7 × 7 = 49
Now our problem becomes:
6 + 49 − 7
✏️ STEP 2: Addition and subtraction
When only addition and subtraction remain, work from left to right:
6 + 49 = 55
Then:
55 − 7 = 48
🎯 FINAL ANSWER: 48 ✅
A common mistake would be starting with 6 + 7 simply because it's on the left. But multiplication gets priority, so 7 × 7 must be solved first.
🧠 Remember:
Parentheses → Exponents → Multiplication/Division → Addition/Subtraction
How did you do this morning? 😎
👍 = Got 48!
😮 = Got something different!
😂 = Order of operations got me again!
