What a way to kick off the season! 🎉

The UAlbany Great Danes opened their 2026 football campaign Friday night with an impressive 28–14 victory over New Hampshire at Tom & Mary Casey Stadium — giving new head coach Tom Perkovich his first Division I win! 👏🏈

And the Great Danes did it by absolutely dominating on the ground. 💪

🏃 374 rushing yards for UAlbany
🔥 7.1 yards per carry
🏈 Joey Koch — 144 rushing yards & a touchdown
🏈 QB Kai Colón — 90 rushing yards
🏈 Rahshan La Mons — 62 yards & a touchdown
🏈 Aidan Semo — TWO rushing touchdowns

For comparison, the UAlbany defense held New Hampshire to just 62 rushing yards for the game. 😲

The defense also came up BIG when it mattered. 🛡️

Shawan Lewis recorded 2.5 sacks, while Dillon Dunathan added a sack and a huge interception near the goal line as New Hampshire threatened early in the fourth quarter.

After falling behind 7–0, the Great Danes responded with 21 unanswered points to take control. When UNH pulled within seven early in the second half, UAlbany immediately answered with another touchdown and then shut the Wildcats out for the remainder of the game.

🏆 FINAL: UAlbany 28 — New Hampshire 14

The victory puts the Great Danes at 1–0 overall and 1–0 in the CAA to begin the season.

UAlbany now hits the road for a Thursday night matchup against the Buffalo Bulls:

Today’s problem is:

12 + 18 ÷ 6 = ?

The key is remembering PEMDAS — the order of operations.

Even though addition appears first when reading left to right, division has priority over addition.

18 ÷ 6 = 3

So our problem becomes:

12 + 3

12 + 3 = 15

A common mistake is working strictly from left to right:

12 + 18 = 30
30 ÷ 6 = 5 ❌

But PEMDAS tells us that multiplication and division must be completed before addition and subtraction.

P — Parentheses
E — Exponents
M/D — Multiplication & Division, left to right
A/S — Addition & Subtraction, left to right

So:

12 + 18 ÷ 6
= 12 + 3
= 15 ✅
