California. Texas. The Billboard Hot 100. It's all on Kalshi.
The California governor primary is live right now. So is the Texas Senate race, the 2028 presidential field, and the question of whether Taylor Swift releases a song for Toy Story 5.
Political and cultural markets on Kalshi move in real time — as news breaks, odds shift. Which means someone who reads closely, follows polls, and actually pays attention to what's happening has a genuine edge over someone who doesn't.
On Kalshi, information is the advantage. The platform is federally regulated under the CFTC, with no house edge and no restricted winners. Every dollar traded reflects real collective intelligence about what's going to happen.
If you're already following politics and culture closely, Kalshi turns that attention into an asset.

⚾🌟 FROM SELKIRK TO THE SOUTH… AND NOW DIVISION I! 🌟⚾
What a journey for one talented local athlete! 👏🏽
Selkirk native and CBA graduate Kieran Kostanoski is proving that hard work, determination, and taking a chance can open incredible doors.
After feeling under-recruited out of high school, Kostanoski took a leap of faith and headed to Coastal Alabama North to continue his baseball career. That decision paid off in a big way.
In just one standout season, the 6-foot-3 left-handed pitcher:
🔥 Led the Alabama Community College Conference with 94 strikeouts
⚾ Posted a 6-3 record with a 3.20 ERA
💪 Increased his fastball into the low 90s after adding strength and nearly 30 pounds through dedicated training and nutrition.
His breakout freshman campaign earned him an opportunity to transfer to NCAA Division I Tulane University, where he'll continue both his academic and baseball journey.
This summer, Kostanoski is back in New York pitching for the Amsterdam Mohawks, helping one of the league's hottest teams. Through his first four appearances, he's posted a 2.00 ERA while contributing to the Mohawks' impressive season.
Behind the success is plenty of dedication—and a supportive family. Kieran credits his coaches for helping develop his game and says his mom's home cooking has been a welcome part of returning home for the summer.
Congratulations to Kieran on an incredible year and best of luck as he continues his baseball career at Tulane University! The Bethlehem community will be cheering you on every step of the way! 💙⚾
👏 Join us in congratulating Kieran in the comments!

🥵🌡️ HEAT ADVISORY ALERT: DANGEROUS HEAT THROUGH FRIDAY! 🚨☀️

🥵🌡️ HEAT ADVISORY ALERT: DANGEROUS HEAT THROUGH FRIDAY! 🚨☀️
Bethlehem neighbors, be prepared! The National Weather Service has issued an Extreme Heat Warning for Albany County and surrounding areas, remaining in effect until 8:00 PM on Friday, July 3.
With temperatures soaring and humidity remaining high, heat-related illnesses can develop quickly, especially for older adults, young children, outdoor workers, and those with medical conditions. Warm overnight temperatures in the 70s will offer little relief, making it even more important to stay cool.
⚠️ What You Should Know:
💧 Drink plenty of water—even if you don't feel thirsty.
🏠 Stay in air-conditioned buildings whenever possible.
🌳 Limit outdoor activities, especially during the hottest part of the day.
👵 Check on elderly neighbors, friends, and family members.
🐶 Make sure pets have shade and plenty of fresh water.
🚗 Never leave a child, older adult, or pet in a parked vehicle. Temperatures inside a car can become deadly in just minutes.
⛈️ In addition to the extreme heat, strong thunderstorms may also develop, so continue monitoring local forecasts for changing weather conditions.
🆘 Need a cool place to go?
If you don't have access to air conditioning or adequate shelter, dial 2-1-1 for assistance locating a nearby cooling center.
Let's all do our part to stay safe and look out for one another during this stretch of dangerous weather. ❤️

👶💙 BIG NEWS FOR FAMILIES: CHILD CARE HELP EXPANDS IN NEW YORK! 💰🎉

👶💙 BIG NEWS FOR FAMILIES: CHILD CARE HELP EXPANDS IN NEW YORK! 💰🎉
Raising kids isn't cheap—and for many families, child care is one of the biggest monthly expenses. Now, thousands more New Yorkers could qualify for financial assistance thanks to a major expansion of the Child Care Assistance Program (CCAP).
The 2027 New York State Budget includes a $1.23 billion funding increase, bringing total CCAP funding to nearly $3 billion—a 40% increase over last year.
📈 What does this mean?
✅ More families will be approved for child care assistance.
✅ Many families who were previously on waitlists are expected to receive help.
✅ Eligible families often pay as little as $15 per week for child care.
✅ Assistance can also help cover after-school programs for children ages 4–12.
📍 Good News for Albany County
Albany County is receiving a significant funding boost:
💵 $20.3 million in CCAP funding
📈 An increase of $13.1 million—about 181% more than before.
👨👩👧 More Families May Qualify
Income eligibility has expanded substantially. For example, a family of four earning up to approximately $117,000 per year may now qualify, depending on individual circumstances.
For one local mom, the additional funding meant being removed from a waitlist and seeing her summer child care costs drop dramatically—freeing up money for school expenses, extracurricular activities, and other family needs.
If you think your family may qualify, it may be worth checking your eligibility. This expanded funding is designed to help more working families access safe, reliable, and affordable child care.
❤️ Affordable child care can make a real difference for families across our community.

🧩☕ THURSDAY MORNING MATH PUZZLER SOLVED! ☕🧩

Credit: Aloha Ocean
🧠✅ Thursday Morning Math Puzzler Solution!
The expression is:
Step 1: Follow the Order of Operations (PEMDAS/BODMAS)
Always perform multiplication before addition and subtraction.
6 × 0 = 0
Now the problem becomes:
6 + 7 + 7 - 0
Step 2: Add from left to right
6 + 7 = 13
13 + 7 = 20
Step 3: Subtract
20 − 0 = 20
🎉 Final Answer: 20 ✅
📚 Teaching Tip
A common mistake is to add and subtract first:
❌ (6 + 7 + 7 − 6) × 0 = 14 × 0 = 0 (Incorrect!)
Remember:
👉 Multiplication and division always come before addition and subtraction.
Since anything multiplied by zero equals zero, calculate 6 × 0 first, then finish the rest of the equation.
Correct Order:
Multiply: 6 × 0 = 0
Add/Subtract: 6 + 7 + 7 − 0 = 20
🧩 Answer: 20
