π CLOSE CALL IN VOORHEESVILLE: CAR STRUCK BY TRAIN AFTER DRIVER ESCAPES SAFELY πβ οΈ
A frightening situation in Voorheesville Friday night thankfully ended without any injuries. π
According to authorities, a train struck a vehicle near the railroad crossing at Maple Avenue and Joslin Avenue shortly after 9:00 PM.
Albany County Sheriff Craig Apple reported that the driver told investigators his vehicle's tire became stuck on the tracks. ππ
Fortunately, the driver and his wife were able to get out of the vehicle and move to safety before the train collided with the car.
β No injuries were reported.
CSX officials confirmed the crash occurred Friday evening, and emergency responders quickly arrived on scene.
This incident serves as an important reminder to always exercise caution around railroad crossings and never attempt to remain in a vehicle if it becomes disabled on the tracks.
π We're grateful everyone involved was able to walk away safely.
