ππ‘ FROM SWIFTYβS TO STACKED: DELMAR FRIENDS OPEN NEW FAMILY BURGER SPOT AT FOUR CORNERS β€οΈπ₯

A new locally owned restaurant officially opened this week in Delmar β and behind it is a story about friendship, resilience, and community. ππ
Stacked Grill, now open at:
π 374 Delaware Ave. in Delmarβs Four Corners,
is the first business venture for longtime friends and kitchen managers Chris Stewart and Mike Blendell.
The pair grew up locally, worked together for more than 15 years, and both spent years helping run kitchens at Swiftyβs Restaurant & Pub before deciding to take a leap and build something of their own. β€οΈ
π‘ A local story many can relate to
The journey to opening Stacked Grill wasnβt exactly planned.
After Swiftyβs temporarily shut down in December amid tax issues, both Stewart and Blendell unexpectedly found themselves out of work.
Instead of walking away from the restaurant business, they turned the challenge into an opportunity.
π¬ βIt turned out to be a silver lining,β Stewart said.
At the same time, the owners of FoCo Taco at Four Corners were preparing to close β creating the perfect opening for the two friends to bring their own vision to Delmar.
π Whatβs on the menu?
Stacked Grill is focusing on:
π₯ Smashburgers
π Handmade chicken tenders
π Fresh fries & chips
And yesβ¦
π Single
ππ Double
πππ Triple
ππππ Quadruple burgers
βFor someone who wants to stuff their faces,β Blendell joked. π
But beyond the burgers, the owners say affordability and community matter most.
π¬ βGoing out to eat with parents and two kids can get expensive fast,β Stewart said.
The goal?
β€οΈ Create a family-friendly local option with prices that work for local families.
They also emphasized that much of the food will be made fresh in-house whenever possible rather than relying heavily on frozen products.
ποΈ Supporting local business in Delmar
For many Bethlehem residents, locally owned businesses are a huge part of what gives Four Corners its identity and character.
Stacked Grillβs opening comes at an important moment for the Delmar restaurant scene β especially as neighboring businesses continue evolving and changing.
The owners are also honoring:
π Former FoCo Taco gift cards
β The previous loyalty program
β helping create continuity for customers who supported the prior business.
πΊ Future plans may also include:
π· Beer & wine service
π₯ Possibly Sunday brunch
depending on customer demand.
β€οΈ A hometown investment
What makes this story resonate for many locals is that itβs not a corporate chain opening another location.
Itβs:
π¨βπ³ Two longtime local friends
πΌ Taking a risk on themselves
π‘ Investing back into the community they grew up in
And now, Delmar has another locally owned restaurant ready to serve the neighborhood.
π Stacked Grill

Be sure to stop by and welcome them to Four Corners! πππ₯

New citizens take the Oath of Allegiance during a naturalization ceremony in the Voorheesville Central School District. (Voorheesville CSD)
It was a powerful and emotional day in Voorheesville as students, educators, families, and community members came together to celebrate one of the most meaningful moments in civic life β becoming an American citizen. πΊπΈ
On Thursday, the Voorheesville Central School District hosted a federal naturalization ceremony at the middle/high school performing arts center, where:
π 15 individuals officially took the Oath of Allegiance and became citizens of the United States.
The ceremony was a collaboration between:
πΊπΈ U.S. District Court for the Northern District of New York
π Department of Homeland Security
π³οΈ League of Women Voters
π« Voorheesville Central School District
π‘ What made the day especially meaningful was the role students played throughout the ceremony.
Students from grades 7, 11, and 12 attended the event, while younger students helped welcome the new citizens by:
πΊπΈ Reciting the Pledge of Allegiance
πΆ Singing the National Anthem
πͺ Providing homemade baked goods through the middle school baking club

π€ Civic responsibility
πΊπΈ Democracy in action
β€οΈ The meaning of community
Superintendent Frank Macri called the ceremony a reflection of the districtβs mission to help students become thoughtful and engaged citizens.
