New York may be preparing to take a shot at bringing the Winter Olympics back to the Empire State for the first time since the legendary 1980 Lake Placid Games! 🇺🇸🏒

Governor Kathy Hochul says the state is exploring the possibility of launching a formal bid for the 2042 Winter Olympics, with plans potentially involving both:
🏔️ Lake Placid
🌆 New York City

The idea has already sparked excitement across the state, especially for sports fans remembering the historic “Miracle on Ice” moment when Team USA defeated the Soviet Union during the 1980 games in Lake Placid. 🥅🇺🇸

State leaders say New York offers a unique combination of:
🚆 Massive transportation infrastructure
🏟️ World-famous venues
🏙️ Global tourism appeal
⛷️ Existing Olympic winter sports facilities

Assemblymember Robert Carroll praised the idea, pointing to investments already made in Lake Placid’s Olympic facilities and NYC’s unmatched event infrastructure. 👏

Four Ravena-Coeymans-Selkirk students officially committed to their future careers this week during the annual Capital Region BOCES National Signing Day! 🛠️🚛⚙️

Held at the Career & Technical Education Center – Albany Campus, the event celebrated more than 70 students from across the Capital Region who are stepping directly into skilled trades and technical careers after graduation. 🎉

Modeled after the NCAA National Signing Day for student-athletes, the event honors students entering workforce careers and highlights the growing importance of skilled trades in today’s economy. 👷‍♂️🔩

The Bethlehem Central Eagles boys varsity tennis team is once again on top of Section II Class AA! 👏🎾

On Thursday, the Eagles defeated #1 seed Shaker by a dominant 7-2 score to capture their third straight sectional championship and their seventh title in the last eight years! 🏆🧡🖤

The incredible victory continues Bethlehem’s remarkable run as one of the Capital Region’s premier high school tennis programs. 💪🎾

⚾🦅 EAGLES ARE HEADED TO THE SECTIONAL CHAMPIONSHIP! 🔥🏆

The Bethlehem Central Eagles varsity baseball team is one win away from a Section 2 title after a dominant playoff performance Monday night at Joe Bruno Stadium! 👏⚾

The #8 ranked Eagles shut out #4 Niskayuna by a final score of 5-0 in the Section 2 semifinal round and punched their ticket to the championship game! 🧡🖤

🔥 The story of the night was pitcher Tate Kindlon, who delivered an incredible NO-HITTER while striking out seven batters! 💪⚾
The Eagles’ ace completely silenced the Silver Warriors lineup and helped Bethlehem advance in style. 👀🔥

At the plate, the Eagles played smart, disciplined baseball with contributions coming throughout the lineup. Seven different players recorded hits, including Matt Mullen, who added an RBI and a run scored. 🦅

Bethlehem also showed excellent plate discipline, striking out only twice during the entire game. 👏
