As children across Bethlehem, Delmar, Glenmont, Selkirk, Voorheesville, New Scotland, and the RCS community prepare to head back to school, a new lawsuit is shining a spotlight on an issue many local parents are already concerned about: the impact of social media on young people's mental health.

The families of four teenagers who died by suicide have filed a lawsuit against several of the world's largest social media companies, alleging their platforms were intentionally designed in ways that encouraged excessive use and contributed to serious mental health struggles.

While the allegations will ultimately be decided in court, the case has renewed national conversations about:

A meaningful partnership with strong local roots is helping bring more contemporary Christian music to our region—and it all started right here in the Bethlehem area.

St. Matthew's Church in Voorheesville has joined forces with Dottie Pepper, the Saratoga Springs native, former LPGA champion, and longtime CBS Sports golf broadcaster, to help expand opportunities for Christian concerts across the Capital Region.

Together, they're working with Live Nation to bring nationally recognized Christian artists to venues including Universal Preservation Hall in Saratoga Springs and SPAC, giving local families more opportunities to experience faith-based music close to home.

For many in our community, Christian music is more than entertainment—it's a source of encouragement, hope, inspiration, and fellowship.

Instead of traveling hours to attend major Christian concerts, residents of Bethlehem, Delmar, Glenmont, Selkirk, Slingerlands, Voorheesville, New Scotland, and the RCS community will now have more opportunities to enjoy these performances right here in the Capital Region.

It's another example of how local leadership and community partnerships can create new cultural and family-friendly experiences for everyone.
