Bad news is good business. We never bought in.

Every morning, financial news follows the same script. Headlines panic, coverage catastrophises, and somewhere inside the noise is the story that actually matters — the one that tells you where the opportunity sits, not just where the fear is pointing.

Most sources have stopped looking. The alarm is easier to sell.

The Daily Upside was created by Wall Street insiders for readers who crave real insight over recycled anxiety. Five minutes of global business and finance, before the noise sets the agenda — just the facts, context, and analysis your decisions need.

Join 1M readers — including managing directors and principals at some of Wall Street’s largest institutions — who trust The Daily Upside to filter through the chaos.

The upsides are always there. We’ll find them before breakfast.

🌳🎉 BIG WIN FOR OPEN SPACE IN BETHLEHEM! NORMANS KILL RAVINES PARK GROWS BY 133 ACRES! 🎉🌳

Bethlehem's newest nature destination just got a whole lot bigger!

On Tuesday Afternoon, Albany County, the Mohawk Hudson Land Conservancy, and the Town of Bethlehem officially celebrated the addition of 133 acres to Normans Kill Ravines Park with a ribbon-cutting ceremony marking a major investment in conservation, recreation, and the future of our community.

🌲 Created in 2021, Normans Kill Ravines Park has quickly become one of Bethlehem's hidden gems. With this latest expansion to almost 290 acres, the park is now nearly twice the size of Elm Avenue Park, offering even more opportunities to enjoy the area's natural beauty.

🏞️ The newly acquired property at 114 North Street in Delmar features:
Beautiful forests
Scenic ridges and ravines
Normans Kill river shoreline
Open fields and wildlife habitat

The land became available after the property owner withdrew plans for a large-scale development project and approached the Town about preserving the site instead. Working together, the Town of Bethlehem partnered with Albany County Executive Dan McCoy, Albany County Legislature Chair Joanne Cunningham, and the Mohawk Hudson Land Conservancy to make the acquisition possible.

🚶 Important Note:
While the new acreage is now part of the park, there are currently no marked trails on the newly acquired property. Visitors are encouraged to continue using the park's official entrance at the end of Wright Lane.

🐑 Looking ahead, exciting plans are already in motion! The Town is working with a local farmer and Bethlehem Environmental Commons (BeECO) to use sheep for field management, while continuing partnerships with the Capital Trail Alliance to expand walking and mountain biking trail opportunities throughout the property.

💚 This is a tremendous example of local government, conservation organizations, and community partners working together to preserve open space for future generations.

☕ FRIDAY MORNING MATH PUZZLER SOLVED! ☕🧩

🧩FRIDAY MORNING MATH PUZZLER SOLVED!🧩

The problem is:

5 + 5 + 5 × 5 × 0 = ?

Correct Answer: 10

Use the Order of Operations:

1️⃣ Parentheses
2️⃣ Exponents
3️⃣ Multiplication & Division
4️⃣ Addition & Subtraction

Step 1: Multiply first

5 × 5 × 0 = 25 × 0 = 0

Now the problem becomes:

5 + 5 + 0

Step 2: Add

5 + 5 + 0 = 10

🎯 Final Answer: 10

Why Many People Get It Wrong

Some people add everything first:

5 + 5 + 5 = 15
15 × 5 = 75
75 × 0 = 0

But multiplication must happen before addition.
